Accountant (16 hours per week)

Short Job Description: 

A well-established specialist in their field requires an Accountant​/Bookkeeper, responsible for the full accounting function, monthly as well as year-end requirements, on Xero Accounting. ​4 hours per day with the flexibility of start and​ finish times ​(​4 days per week​).​

Full Job Description: 


  • Day to day management of the finance function
  • Assist in debtors and creditors management
  • Assist in Electronic Bank Reconciliations on Xero
  • Invoicing as required
  • Assist in Tender preparation and submission of required documents
  • Preparation of annual cash-flow forecasts, and monthly management accounts if and when required
  • Monthly preparation and review of journals
  • Review of VAT transactions to ensure correct treatment as well as the calculation of Diesel rebates (training will be provided)
  • Ensure all financial administration, documentation and filing is dealt with timeously to keep Xero as a “live” system
  • Improve current operational systems as deemed necessary

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Financial qualification or on​-the​-job years of experience in accounting to financial statements level ​(5- 6​ ​years experience​)​
  • Experience in Xero Accounting System ​is beneficial ​and must be detailed in the cv and cover letter
  • Experience working autonomously and in a supervisory capacity
