Full Job Description: 

Accountant Job, Stellenbosch, Western Cape

 

Responsibilities:

Debtors:

  • Sign off on new leases.
  • Review monthly billing including recoveries.
  • Liaise with legal re LODs and AODs.
  • Assist with debtors recons.
  • Liaise with tenants on account matters.
  • Assist staff where needed.

Creditors:

  • Sign off recons and ensure payments are made on time.
  • Check ad hoc recoveries and ensure all recoverable expenses have been recovered from debtors.
  • Check recoveries for repairs and maintenanceand ensure all materials and labour have been recovered.
  • Ensure all invoices comply with VAT requirements.
  • Assist staff where needed.

Cashbooks:

  • Assist staff where needed.
  • Sign off recons.

Petty Cash:

  • Sign off recons.
  • Petty cash quarterly count.

VAT:

  • Review calculations and submissions.
  • Gather information and follow up on VAT audits.

Accounting/Processing:

  • Review intercompany interest.
  • Review partner interest.
  • Review bond interest.
  • Review bad debt.
  • Review management fees.
  • Process journal entry corrections.
  • Review balancing of interccompany loans.

Financial Reporting:

  • Adhere to deadline calendar dates.
  • Analyse trial balances and report on variances.
  • Assist in preparing the pack for financial MANCO meetings.
  • Review / prepare management packs.
  • Carry out MANCO tasks and deal with queries.
  • Prepare annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Deal with auditor queries.
  • Prepare tax calculations for year end audit.

General Duties:

  • Ad hoc reporting.
  • Prepare financial statements on CaseWare.
  • Plan, assign and review staff work.
  • Train staff.
