Full Job Description: 

Business Consultancy firm in Durbanville Cape Town requires a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain and review clients’ financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments.  This person must be able to take initiative and must be disciplined to start and complete assigned tasks within time frames set. The ideal candidate holds a Finance qualification and is familiar with accounting software packages, like Sage Pastel Accounting, Sage Payroll and Sage One.

 

Responsibilities

Liasing with clients to obtain source documents (bank statements, invoices, payroll information etc)

Finalising the books up to trial balance

Checking and reconciling transactions posted (bank recon, suppliers recon, debtors recon, etc)

Completing and checking VAT201 returns

Record debtor and creditor transactions in a timely manner

Capture and finalise payroll transactions, complete EMP201 and EMP501 process in a timely manner

 

 

Requirements

Previous experience in bookkeeping is essential

Proper understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles

Candidate must be able to calculate and post figures accurately, with attention to detail

Must be comfortable in using MS Excel and general MS Office applications

Qualification and previous experience in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
