Short Job Description: 

Highly esteemed Trust acting as a business enabler seeks the services of a CA with a passion for purpose. This is a fixed duration contract for 6 months but permanent opportunities may become available in the future. Would suit someone who is highly ethical where Governance and Compliance is concerned, but extremely agile in their thinking with a hands-on approach.

Full Job Description: 

 Accountable for all daily, monthly and quarterly accounting processes and procedures;
 Reconciliation of the loans in the loan management system with the individual bank accounts and loan agreements;
 Ensuring monthly loan statements are sent to the SMME’s and managing any queries on the loan balances;
 Cashbook updates and bank reconciliations;
 Processing month end journals and monthly general ledger preparation;
 Record keeping of financial data;
 Preparation of management accounts;
 Preparation of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal, company and financial accounting guidelines;
 Preparation of reports for Trustees as well as any reporting requirements for Donors;
 Responsible for year-end audits;
 Implementing appropriate processes and controls around requisitions, expenditure and payments;
 Prepare, complete and submit statutory returns;
 Involvement in the organisation of meetings of the Trustee, to include the preparation of high-quality meeting packs, preparing Trustee minutes, recording and attending to matters arising;
 Attending to all administrative requirements for the ingoing registration of the Trust as a Public

Benefit Organisation;

 Maintain constitutional and any regulatory records; and
 Responsible for any tax compliance requirements of the Trust

Qualifications and Experience
 Qualified CA(SA) with at least 5 years’ experience as a financial accountant; and
 Experience with Sage (advantage) and/or another accounting system.

Personal Attributes and Skills
 Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles;
 High level of proficiency in MS Office and accounting systems;
 Good verbal and written communication skills;
 Good team player, as well as comfortable to work individually;
 Strong work ethic;
 High standards and attention to detail; and
 Deadline driven.
