Our client, a corporate insurer, is looking for a Debtors Clerk to join their team on a 4-month fixed term contract. Only applicants who are available to start on 3 January 2022 will be considered.

Full Job Description: 

Debtors Clerk job, Johannesburg, Gauteng


  • Accurate allocation of payments received by the client to the relevant invoices in Accpac (Sage)
  • Distribution of the monthly ageing to the underwriters for commentary and discussion
  • Monthly/weekly follow up on overdue debtors with client and underwriters
  • Extract and distribute mid-month/ updated statements to the client
  • Investigation of client queries


  • Matric is a minimum requirement
  • 5+ years experience as a debtors clerk
  • Computer literate - Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Accounting software package – Accpac (not essential)
  • Experience in dealing with clients (written and telephonically)
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Strong time management skills (crucial)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to take direction from, and support multiple managers
  • Committed to standards of the highest professional and ethical standards
  • Sound written and verbal communications skills
  • Reliable and diligent individual
  • Detail orientated, working with a plan/routine
  • 3 days in the office and 2 days’ work from home.
