Full Job Description:

About the job: This new vacancy has been created at offices in Rondebosch.

This role is suited to a qualified CA(SA) candidate, with 3-5 years of post-articles experience, preferably gained at a small, or medium sized accounting and auditing firm.

Key responsibilities include:

 Preparation of group entity annual financial statements (i.t.o IFRS)

 Completion and submission of Group entity tax returns (income, DWT)

 Oversee compilation of monthly management accounts, and presentation of same

 Preparation of annual budget for the group

 Review and measurement of actual performance against budget


 Forecasting of results during the financial year – review and update predictive model

 Responsible for finance dept operations, review schedules, reconciliations and controls

 Ensure controls and risk-limiting mechanisms are in place and reviewed regularly

 Management, training and supervision of finance department staff

 Authorise payments, monthly review of debtors and journals

 Ensure all statutory returns are timeously and accurately completed and submitted

 Manage relationships with external auditors, finance service providers

 Manage capital adequacy and reserve requirements

 Assess and improve process and procedures

Key requirements for applicants:


 Related tertiary qualification a necessity: qualified chartered accountant

 Previous experience (with proven track record) in similar function a requirement, minimum 3-5 years post qualifications experience)

 Strong MS Office suite applications skills required

 Computer literacy: MS Office, Sage 300 ERP advantageous

 Previous supervisory or management experience an advantage

 Previous commercial working experience in a small to medium environment

 Fluency in English required (verbal and written)

 A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work in a high volume environment

 Ability to work independently, and excellent organisational skills a requirement

 Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines a requirement
