Our client seeks an accountant with a solid work history, who has a proven track record of reliability and responsibility as a work ethic.  This is a gender advancement opportunity.  As a full-time role, there will be an allowance for family commitments should this be required from time to time.  Similarly, there might be a requirement for longer hours from time to time during month-end processes.

Responsible for the day-to-day processing and expediting of financial transactions, the urgent resolution of all financial transactional delays/disputes/queries, and ensuring the timeous collection of all client payments.

Provide support to Sales Administrators and Financial Manager, performing all Financial Manager duties when he/she is out of office.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

TRANSACTIONAL

 Processing of all supplier invoices in accounting system post receipt of required approvals.
 Prepare journal entries, and process after receipt of approval.
 Daily banking administration.
 Checking and controlling of buying orders to invoices (3-way check).
 Month-end payment recon preparations.
 Travel & Expense claim reviews & processing.
 Various recons, such as debtors, creditors, bank, ad-hoc, etc.
 Preparation of EFTs.
 Petty Cash admin and control (Local & Foreign).

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

 Ensure timeous processing & payment of all supplier invoices as per agreed commercial terms.
 Analysis and resolution of all creditor payment disagreements.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

 Ensure timeous collection of all client payments in terms of agreed commercial terms with respective clients.
 Ensure resolution of any/all client disputes in order to achieve on-time payment.
 Ensure no outstanding payments in excess of 90 days.

REPORTING / FINANCIAL ANALYSIS

 Monthly management reporting.
 Financial & operational analysis & reporting as required from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

 Unless the applicant can demonstrate that they have developed the necessary competencies through experience, a minimum of a B. Comm., or B. Acc. degree and/or CIMA is required.
 Good knowledge and experience of accounting, debtors, creditors and other accounting related matters are required.
 A good understanding of accounting principles, IAS, IFRS, tax and other accounting related matters are required.

EXPERIENCE

 Knowledge and previous experience with computerized accounting packages and Excel is essential.
 Previous experience with Enterprise or Hyperion reporting, and MS Dynamics will be advantageous.
 Effective oral communication.
 Good interpersonal skills.
 Advanced Excel skills.
 Good knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including tax, IAS, & IFRS.
 A responsible, conscientious, self-starter who will be able to work independently.
 A track record of consistent, continuous and ongoing self-improvement is essential.
