Retail Analyst: Corporate Retail (Pod Lead)

Retail Analyst: Corporate Retail (Pod Lead)

  • Key Performance Areas Key Performance Indicators
  • Work with the allocated Researcher, to ensure that you receive relevant the weekly news coverage for the applicable Thought leadership channel and its retailers and wholesalers insights to inform channel
  • Gather, analyse, consolidate, update and manage retailer. Source Original Content for Retail Analysis specific information and identify key supplier implications (so what's) for inclusion across all report formats research content and marketing material

Daily/Weekly News extraction and reporting

  • Continually scan across available news and information sources to keep up to speed with industry trends and developments to inform your report and analysis
  • Attend flagship new store openings and establish a regular schedule of store visits, covering all relevant channel outlets
  • Extract relevant insights, trends, questions for further investigation to populate your report content

Production, quality and delivery of the Company Retail Research Reports set

  • Provide thought leadership insights to build companies credibility as an expert source in global and local relevant trends within your assigned channel, and use this insight to contribute to research content and social media messaging
  • Work closely with the marketing team to inform report sponsorship and report sales and marketing material
  • Channel and Retailer Key Contact and Relationship Management Build and maintain a network of contacts which will benefit research quality
  • Build, manage and maintain the Company Research Connect Calendar to enable relationships with key stakeholders across the SA FMCG Industry to ensure access to retail data, knowledge and first-hand understanding required to build Ti client relevant reports
  • Know who the critical Key Stakeholders are including
  • Using the Company Research report production methodology IP, produce the assigned company Channel and Retailer annual retailers, suppliers, industry representatives, trade bodies, CGI service providers, academia etc.

  • Continual product and - Bi-annual FMCG Retail in SA Report service improvements - Monthly FMCG Retail Trading Landscape Report - Corporate Retail Channel Report - Corporate Retailer Trade Profiles - Corporate Retailer Fact Sheets - X3 Executive Reports p.a - X4 Quarterly store visits photo feature report
  • Translate Research content into effective, relevant School of Retail and Consulting materials
  • Manage and provide support and guidance to the Pod Team regarding delivery and quality of reports
  • Continually look for ways to upgrade the quality of company analyst team products and services through improvements to report content, design, ‘packaging’ and presentation
  • Keep up to speed with global and local best practice retail business reporting to inform continuous company products improvements

Management of Pod Team Deliverables and P&L

  • Establish, manage and record report production costs (direct and indirect) for own and Pod Team reports, working in partnership with the appointed sales lead, to ensure that profit margins are maintained
  • Respond to current client requests for information regarding report content and scope and design bespoke client reports in partnership with the appointed client contact, within project budget
  • Deliver weekly and monthly production and budget report for company Research Pod
