Short Job Description: 

A Social Enterprise that focuses on providing supported and supervised care for children, as well as the community that supports these children,  through an established network is looking for a  SE Project Manager.  The aim of the SE Project Manager will be to review operational oversight, co-opt management re joint project delivery, align the hybrid organisation’s internal structures, policies, practices and culture with delivery. This is a full day role which offers flexibility and a remuneration of approximately R40k per month.

Full Job Description: 

 The ideal person for this position will lead the project delivery in the implementation of systems change projects, supported by existing impact and project management tools, processes and mid-level leadership. Significant support is offered by a team of four project coordinators focusing on the detail of project delivery, in addition to mentorship from the leadership team and therefore this role requires a strong individual with the ability to focus on operational oversight and “big picture” thinking.  

This role requires someone who can support a diverse team who are involved in day-to-day delivery while taking  responsibility for the overarching deliverables and reporting.  Good change management and people skills are vital.


This role will eventually include responsibilities, together with the leadership team, for the overall direction and management of this unique hybrid social enterprise.


Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Managing efficient and effective systems to increase the efficient delivery of projects and activities
  • Ensuring that all task team members retain their passion, creative spark, core values and client-focused drive that embodies this social enterprise
  • Develop a unified and empowering culture of team learning
  • Oversee the delivery of successful projects within scope, time, and in budget
  • Manage cross cutting project budgets
  • Successful implementation of development and support plans for the core projects team
  • Input into the design of project concept proposals
  • Steer project implementation processes
  • Guide and support teams in a time of change
  • Oversee scheduling of human resources and show the ability to pre-empt future resource needs
  • Oversee and manage macro project budgets and support coordinators in activity budget planning and operations
  • Confidently track deliverables and targets with the ability to confidently lead teams when changes need to be  made
  • Report writing skills
  • Management of key stakeholder relationships




  • At least 8 years’ experience in project oversight and project operations management
  • Interest in building teams
  • Highly organized, self-reliant, good problem-solver, results-orientated, multi-tasker with excellent judgment
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively interface with all team members and stakeholders
  • Advanced computer literacy skills
