Setting up a cloud accounting system and engaging with high net worth individuals will be part of this exciting job.

Senior Bookkeeper or non-CA accountant job in Gauteng

This is an in-house accounting function for a financial services company that serves high net worth families and estates. 

The incumbent must have a valid bookkeeping or accounting qualification. 

The role is part-time but may grow as the business grows. 

Be responsible for growing a new division/ service within an existing business. 

Previous experience in drawing up Annual Financial Statements

Well groomed with excellent English writing and speaking. 

Good working knowledge of the entire accounting function, from preparing:

  • Ledger entries
  • Journal entries
  • Income Statements
  • Balance Sheets

Cloud accounting experience  and knowledge one of CaseWare, Xero, Sage Online etc

Must be able to think on your feet, as every client situation is different, and you will have to be able to come up with appropriate solutions. 

The person must be detailed orientated, and must have high energy levels

May be required to work longer hours if required to do so. 

Initial salary R18,000 – R20,000, depending on experience. 

18 working days leave

Initially be required to work half day for 5 days a week, thereafter,  a greater amount of flexibility around days in the office will be engaged. 

The spectrum of the job is:

Prepare individual client payments and load these ready for release on our payment system

  • Once the payment has been made, load these source documents into a general ledger and complete the necessary Journal entries
  • Using this information, create an Income Statement and Balance Sheet per Client
  • The necessary Company and Trust Resolutions will need to be generated (existing templates)
  • The necessary Loan Agreements will have to be generated (existing templates)
  • These AFS will then be signed off by a registered CA
  • The person will have to work closely with this outside CA
  • The person will work closely with our various Clients, so will need to be comfortable to do so. 
  • The person will also have to be able to do Annual Returns for the various client Companies – these are personal Investment, Property and Holding Companies – not big operational Companies
  • At a later stage take on Payroll functionalities for the Clients.
