Short Job Description: 

An established financing company seeks a treasury/funding specialist consultant to manage projects with wholesale funding institutions and perform cursory treasury activities.  A treasury background, coupled with exposure to funding projects, hedging, credit/interest swaps and ALM experience must be detailed in the cv and cover letter. The candidate will be adept at creating bespoke reporting for funders and have worked in a consultative environment.

Full Job Description:

The ideal incumbent will be commercially minded with the ability to assess and predict financial risks and returns. (structuring financial details around funding projects). The individual will report directly to the Commercial Director. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage Projects: mostly funding projects around wholesale funding from local & international institutional funders. Sculpt, plan, execute and debrief. Manage project resources and prepare reports, alerting management to exceptions. Gather, compile and present to Exco and wholesale funders. 
  • Perform Treasury Activities: management of SPV transactions, and reporting ALM position. Monitor foreign currency hedging and report thereon (provide recommendations) and manage specialist outsourced providers/consultants.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of post-articles experience (preferably with exposure to engaging with and reporting to external stakeholders – shareholders, debt providers, regulators)
  • Understanding of a treasury function and wanting to gain experience in this area. Please motivate this in your cover letter.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and exposure to ALM concepts
  • Project management experience - please highlight clearly in your cv.
  • Analytical mind, organized, precise and meticulous (eye for detail)
  • Ability to take initiative/problem solver, learn quickly and strive for results (accountability/responsibility)
  • Someone who is self-aware, curiosity with constant holistic learning. Someone who wants to contribute to South Africa's growing market.
