Full Job Description: 

Duties:

Bookkeeping and processing

• Full bookkeeping processing on Xero, Pastel and Sage One (very few) up to Trial Balance (customer invoices and credit notes, send out statements, supplier invoices, bank reconciliations, journals)

• Preparing payment batches from Xero

• Saving and organizing documents in the Cloud

• Filing and administration – adhering to record retention legislation

Monthly reconciliations

• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, especially loan accounts between group companies

• Fixed asset register (including calculation of depreciation)

• Performing reasonability calculations to ensure income and expenses are complete and accurate

• Must be able to notice variances and discrepancies and to investigate same

• VAT reconciliations

• Month-end packs

• Taxes

VAT:

  • Review supplier invoices for VAT requirements, reconciling VAT general account to VAT report, submitting VAT returns, VAT reasonability calculation on an annual basis, perform online VAT registrations (SARS e-filing platform)

Income tax:

  • Completing income tax returns on SARS e-filing, correspondence with SARS, navigating the SARS e-filing profile, liaising with SARS on client matters, CGT base cost calculations
