Short Job Description: 

A Christian Foundation and investment group, aimed at bringing lasting change to the lives of people across Africa seeks a senior Brand and Communications expert to lead the brand strategic direction and communications implementation across the entire group. The incumbent will have 7+ years of experience in strategic brand development and report directly to the CEO.

Full Job Description: 

This values-based organization is a high-performance entity where each person is required to take initiative and has the opportunity to thrive. The brand and communications manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and growth of the overarching brand
  • Be the brand custodian and curate the brand on an ongoing basis
  • Digital marketing communication e.g. newsletters, blogs, websites, content etc
  • Bringing about alignment between multiple branded projects within the group
  • Growing the awareness of the organization and it’s functional parts/products
  • Writing a variety of brand communications and stories
  • Developing conceptual ideas
  • Coordinating and managing various marketing, design and communication activities
  • with other outsourced agencies and professionals
  • Reporting to the CEO on progress and recommendations

Skills required:

  • High level of experience in having led strategic development within a multi-level marketing team
  • Excellent team management (360 references will be required) and the ability to coordinate projects between different teams and outsourced service providers
  • Deep understanding and formal training in brand development
  • Communication execution experience
  • Graphic design capability would be advantageous but not essential
  • Exceptional project management skills so as to deliver results in a timely manner
  • Excellent written English and proficiency one other SA language
  • Ability to work across various sectors, and business professionals, the Christian NPO/ministry space as well as CSI practitioners
