Full Job Description: 

Two-year project - rewrite all our application layers from Cobol for the Engineering department and Operations.  Design more effective way of integrating with ERP system.

Get to know how over 5000 proprietary programmes work, what they do, what business problem they solve. 

Create greater efficiencies / suggest new business process involving digital transformation.

Document each process.


  • Work with business to understand what they do
  • Bring business rules into systems
  • Establish a wishlist for business - where is the application failing them, what do they need to do differently in order to be more efficient?
  • Look at code - find the algorithm, document code/logic and then check for relevance

Essential requirements:

  1. Good communication and analytical skills
  2. Cobol understanding
  3. SQL queries
  4. Business Analysis and Process Analysis methodologies and frameworks
  5. Solid IT Business Analysis experience within an environment where proprietary software was developed and complex environments existed
