Short Job Description: 

Primary health care NPO requires a monitoring & evaluation specialist responsible for monitoring and the ongoing review of a performance monitoring plan, facility implementation plan, quality improvement plan and project work plans. R30 000 - R45 000 pm. This is a 12-month contract, extension is totally dependant on continued funding.

Full Job Description: 

Key Performance Areas and objectives

  • Lead the development of robust monitoring and evaluation systems, data management procedures
  • Lead the monitoring and ongoing review of Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP), Facility Implementation Plan (FIP), and Quality improvement plan (QIP), project work plans and M & E log frames.
  • Data & databases management and coordination to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Reporting programme outputs
  • Data analytics to drive efficient and effective programme implementation
  • Governance for data security
  • Staff management; training for succession planning

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Tertiary Qualification in statistics, mathematics, demography, or an equivalent job-related field;
  • A health-related tertiary qualification, including a component of health statistics
  • Quantitative analysis with exposure to health and social development
  • Minimum three years in non-governmental organizations, or private-sector institutions, which included reports design, performance monitoring, and/or the analysis and interpretation of large amounts of data
  • Formal training in Monitoring and Evaluation


  • Logical thinking with strong cognitive reasoning capability
  • Presentation skills, including visuals and trend analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Deadline driven, results-oriented,  self-starter and finisher
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders
