Identify the worst task on your schedule and tackle it head on. No excuses, no procrastination, just get it done. That way you start the day with a feeling of great accomplishment instead of growing dread.

It’s amazing how many unanswered emails you can burn through in a single uninterrupted hour. If your days feel daunting, adjust your working hours to get some time at your desk before your family’s feet hit the floorboards. Clearing a few things off your to-do list in the still of the morning can be a game changer for your mood and mindset.

Work as a team

As a working mom there is a lot that goes into managing both work and a household. There’s no harm in including your children in that process. Age-appropriate chores, like unloading the dishwasher or setting the table, will not only reduce family stress but also give your children a sense of responsibility and teamwork. And remember, whether it’s in the form of earned screen time or pocket money, a little motivation can go a long way! 

Find your tribe

No woman is an island. That’s especially true for working moms. It’s important to have friends in a similar stage of life to you, who ‘get’ the challenges you face. Make sure to find your working mom tribe and don’t be shy to lean on them for practical advice and support. 

Embrace technology

From online calendars to online shopping, technology is a working mom’s friend. Perhaps the most practical stress-coping hack is to run your household like you run your job. Schedule your shops, plan your payments, and make the most of all the clever apps available to do so.

No matter how busy you get, don’t forget to take the time to pat yourself on the back. Being a working mom is a juggle, but it’s rewarding and worth it. No one is better at multi-tasking than a mom, you’ve got this.
